Robert Paul Todonai, artist, author and co-director of the Science-Art Research Centre of Australia Incorporated, was born on April 11th, 1963, at Port Augusta, South Australia.

He began his artistic career in 1981 by joining the artists of the Science-Art Research Centre at Berri, in the South Australian Riverland. At the same time he undertook external tertiary studies in applied mathematics.

He was influenced by the work of the Australian Heidelberg School and became recognised for his mastery of Impressionist methods. His work was exhibited throughout Australia by the Elder Fine Art Galleries of Adelaide who also represented such artists as Hugh Sawrey, Pro Hart, David Boyd, Rorbet Pope, Ray Crooke, etc.

Although better known for his paintings of the Australian Outback, he is equally proficient in most areas of oil painting and paints a wide variety of subjects. He is regularly commissioned to paint historical Australian subjects and portraits.

He works almost exclusively in oils on stretched canvas, belgian linen or artboard, either on location or from sketches. His studio is situated on his Uki property near Mt Warning, in the beautiful Tweed Valley of Northern New South Wales.

His overseas exhibitions include the De Vorzon Gallery, Hollywood, and the Dyansen Galleries on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, USA.

He is the joint author of the book, Two Bob's Worth, launched in 1989 in Los Angeles by the Hollywood Thalian Society.

His paintings are hung in collections throughout the world.
